Due to terrible safety issues, I wasn’t able to cycle to the Caucasus and ascend Mount Elbrus in 2013. I wasn’t really happy about it, but still quite determined to cycle eastwards starting from Amsterdam! So I turned right instead of left in Moldavia and reached the shores of the Black Sea. A great cycling adventure crossing continental Europe from West to East!! I was very fortunate to see it all from my saddle! When cycling in the outdoors for a small four weeks, you always end up with ‘dull’ days and ‘special’ days. And one of the special days was the border crossing between Poland and Ukraine. I’ll always remember. I wrote a small piece about this happy memory for a Dutch magazine, which you can read by clicking here.

One year on the bike on three different continents somewhere in 2011 and 2012 produced one article and the webblog bikingcycles, not all who wander are lost, with short stories, photographs and videos! What a great average! The paper has been published in the online journal Sidetracked about a fantastic ride through North America. Check out Sidetracked for very decent travel media and inspiration!
